6:00 PM ~ Tasty Foods with Wine  Pairings

Taste delicious foods prepared by the popular Chef Mike with tips from his 20 years of experience of catering. The food will be paired with a taste of Barefoot Wines. Learn about the Barefoot Winery Family of Wines discussing the winemaking process and chance to taste the quality and brand new wines including the Barefoot Riesling

Presented by Chef Michael T. Whitner of Chef Mike's Community Cafe and Wine Expert, Kristen Reynolds from Barefoot Wineries of California.


 

7:00 PM ~ "New Ways to Enjoy Your Old Favorites"

Chef Judy A La Carte presents Bandiola Spices and the New Pork and Beans as well as Hollendeck Farms Natural Beef prepared with a unique wine reduction recipe.

8:00 PM ~ Taste the Unusual

Taste fruits and vegetables that you may not have tried before while learning fresh tips about these foods. Easy techniques and skills to enjoy these exotic foods with your chance to taste.

Presented by Executive Chef, Arturo Valenzuela of Access 66 Catering. Chef Arturo was recently inducted into the Omaha Hospitality Hall of Fame and is one of Omaha’s best chef’s being selected to prepare for important occasions including President Gerald Ford.

Enjoy a taste from the competition among students at the popular Iron Chef Metro. Teams of two chefs from the Institute for the Culinary Arts will square off in one-hour battles focused on regional cuisine from around the world. Audience members will get the chance to See, Smell Taste & Judge this year’s event. The Spotlight on Great Omaha Chefs Demonstration Stage draws inspiration from the hit TV Show “Iron Chef”. Fast-paced rounds of competition pit chef against chef to create the best dishes. The dueling chefs put the spotlight on inspiration for the Taste of Omaha: all the great food we have here.
