The 19th Annual FALL HOME & GARDEN EXPO will be held, Friday, October 19th through Sunday, October 21st at the Qwest Center – Omaha, 10th & Capitol Avenue. Fall is the time to plan your home improvement projects and get your home ready for old man winter. The best place to find innovative ideas and the latest improvements for your home is this year’s FALL HOME & GARDEN EXPO. The Annual Expo has become the Midwest’s Largest Fall showcase of the latest products and services for the Home Inside and Out! There will be a tremendous amount of excitement created this year with the Frank Fontana, the Lead Designer from the Popular DESIGN ON A DIME hit HGTV Show. Frank will also help design a Room Makeover with a $1,000 Budget drawn from those visiting the Show on Friday Night sponsored by Deeb Realty. The Show will also offer more great prizes to win throughout the Show including new energy efficient washer and gas dryer to be drawn Saturday, “Groceries for a Year” at No Frills Supermarkets on Sunday, as well as whole house and window cleaning service for the Holidays by Daisy Fresh, a Night on the Town complete with dinner at PepperJax Grill, Room at the Regency Lodge and VIP Limousine, and many more.
The Fall Expo experienced tremendous growth by moving to the Qwest Center – Omaha, increasing both in exhibiting companies and attendance. “This year’s show will be the most complete consumers’ showcase in the Midwest by offering visitors a tremendous opportunity to compare the many Home items available, plus new innovations for building, remodeling, decorating and landscaping, some that are not to be found anywhere else but at the Expo,” says Mike Mancuso, the Show Producer. The Expo offers attractions throughout the Convention Center floor including a “Room Design Gallery Display”, with ideas on home interiors from the living room to the kids room, built by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry- Greater Omaha Chapter. Each year the Expo offers something for everyone in the family to enjoy at the Show from The Ultimate Garage Feature Display sponsored by the local Chrysler Jeep Dealers to Beautifully Landscaped Gardens. Other attractions include Ballroom Dancing Demonstrations and the popular “Hint of the Holidays” with an Arts & Craft Showcase for plenty of One-of-a-Kind Home Accents, Decorations & Unique Gifts. This year adds more fun for the kids with the Exotic Animals Show by Wildlife Encounters. These Shows will be Friday, October 19, 6:30 PM, Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sun. Oct. 21 at 1:00 PM.
Meet Frank Fontana, National Host on HGTV’s Most Watched Show, Design on a Dime –
Friday through Sunday Frank Fontana will be appearing on the Fall Home & Garden Expo’s Main Stage throughout the Show on Friday, October 19, 7:30 PM, Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sun. Oct. 21 at 2:00 PM, presenting great ideas for your home. Frank is the host and lead designer for the Chicago based version of HGTV’s popular show, Design on a Dime. Fontana relocated to the Chicago area and has been taping new episodes with Chicago based home owners that will air this fall on HGTV nationwide.
Design on a Dime makes over a space for design-conscious home dwellers who want lots of style but may not have lots of money for the project. With a budget of just $1,000, a design team tackles a problem area such as a boring bedroom, lackluster living room, cluttered dining room or outdated office space. Together the team transforms the ordinary into the remarkable. The show is taped in Los Angeles and Chicago but airs nationally on the HGTV Network. In addition to Design on a Dime, he was the host of another HGTV series Takeover My Makeover.
Audiences may also recognize Fontana as the real Italian Stallion, and underdog winner of ABC’s 2004 Martha Stewart-themed reality competition The Great Domestic Showdown, where he won the competition and launched his television career. Following The Great Domestic Showdown, Fontana quickly moved to TLC where he landed a featured role on the one-hour documentary-style unscripted program Faking It. With cameras rolling, he spent a month mentoring a woman from Texas on how to become a domestic goddess. With Fontana’s help, the woman won the competition. Since then, Fontana has also had regular appearances on Soap Talk with Lisa Renna, and Leeza Gibbons Live.
Fontana’s love for interior design began as a child when he worked as an assistant for his dad renovating various portions of his home. “As a young teen I always studied design books and magazines, looking for way to express my creativity” Fontana remembers. “As a teenager I worked several years for a decorative home painter learning the skills of fine faux finishing and unique decorative paint techniques. I also worked as an apprentice with an interior decorator learning the basics of room layout and color cohesion.” Fontana prides himself in being self-taught but has taken numerous courses in design, painting, drawing and others.
In his mid 20's, Fontana started his own event design company where he designed theme parties and nightclub decor in South Florida for about 7 years. Fontana produced major events for celebrities including Halle Berry, Dennis Quaid, Jeff Goldblum, and many more.

The Annual Fall Home Expo has grown to over 400 home related displays making it the largest Fall consumer Show in the Midwest that includes building, remodeling, kitchens, room additions, bathrooms, decorating, fireplaces, outdoor equipment, heating, air conditioning, contractors, security, siding, appliances, windows, doors, fencing, roofing, fitness equipment, spas and many, more consumer products and services.
The Fall Home & Garden Expo is open to the public on Friday, October 19 from 5 PM to 10 PM, Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21 – 10 AM to 5 PM at the Qwest Center -Omaha.
