New Feature Display at the 2014 Show

The City of Omaha Stormwater Program will have a front yard landscape display that educates homeowners on how they can build a beautiful and functional landscape that addresses the many issues of stormwater runoff.  Stormwater runoff is the rainfall that travels across pavement, roofs, and our yards collecting and carrying numerous pollutants to nearby creeks and lakes.  This display will highlight how you can minimize the water pollution, improve your home’s value and aesthetic with landscaping, reduce maintenance, and best of all - protect our environment.  The display will include rain barrels, rain gardens, permeable pavement, native and adapted plants for our region, general landscape maintenance practices, and the stormwater staff will be on hand to answer questions.
