Saturday, April 26, 2008 - The Walk - A beautiful morning 2-mile walk around Omaha’s Central Park (Rain or Shine the Event will go on).
Start / Finish Line – Omaha Civic Auditorium at the Mancuso Convention Center, 17th & Capitol, Omaha, NE.
Time – 11:00 am Registration and Late Registration
11:15 am Start
Two mile walk starts at 17th Street and then left on Capitol. Take Capitol to 14th St. then turn left on Farnam St. Take Farnam St. to 10th St. then walk around beautiful Central Park Mall and return to the start/finish area. 10th St. to Douglas St. then left on Douglas St. to 14th St. Then right to Capitol, then left to 17th St. See Map for details.
After the walk check in at the Omaha Health Expo to pick up your special gift and team points.
The Omaha Health Expo opens at 11:00 am.
Exhibits, Seminars, and Expo are open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 26.
Sunday, April 27, 2008 - The Bike Ride (Rain or Shine the Event will go on)
Start / Finish Line – Omaha Civic Auditorium at the Mancuso Convention Center, 17th & Capitol, Omaha, NE
There are two start times depending on which route you would like to do.
43 mile ride Fort Atkinson Route
- 9:00 am Registration and Late Registration
- 9:30 am Start
9 mile & 15 mile ride
- 9:30 am Registration and Late Registration
- 10:00 am Start
Three routes to choose from and something for everyone. An approx. 9 mile route, 15 mile route, and a 43 mile route.
Carter Lake (CL) Route - 9 miles
This short morning ride beckons you with its beauty. On the extremely flat and scenic route, riders cross the Nebraska/Iowa border into Carter Lake Park and then return to the Mancuso Convention Center at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
Viking Park (VP) Route - 15 miles
Amid beautiful scenery, cyclists will ride where historical trails and memories were made. The tour takes you through scenic Carter Lake Park and along the Pershing Drive before turning around at Viking Park (located by the OPPD plant).
Ft. Atkinson (FTA) Route - 43 miles
The longest, most challenging tour features lake and river valley scenery, beautiful Boyer Chute, rolling hills, and a at stop at the first military fort established on the Missouri River, Ft. Atkinson. Ft. Atkinson is the turn around and then one travels through the historic city of Ft. Calhoun. The course returns on the Omaha Trace Road to the Mancuso Convention Center at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
